What can & can't go in the skip
A quick guide to accepted items, prohibited items, and things that carry an additional disposal fee. If you're not sure — give us a call before you load.
Accepted items
- General household rubbish
- Furniture (sofas, tables, chairs)
- White goods (fridge, washer, dryer)
- Timber, plasterboard, insulation
- Bricks, tiles, concrete, pavers
- Clean fill, soil & dirt
- Green waste, branches, prunings
- Metal, steel offcuts, wire
- Cardboard, paper, packaging
- Renovation & demolition waste
For the reduced single-material or concrete rate, the load must be clean and unmixed — no contamination.
Prohibited items
- Asbestos or asbestos-containing material
- Liquids, oils, paint, solvents, chemicals
- Gas bottles, fire extinguishers, aerosols
- Batteries (car, lithium, household)
- Tyres
- Food waste, meat, animal carcasses
- Medical, clinical or hazardous waste
- Contaminated soil
- Explosives, flares, ammunition
- Wet cement or slurry
Prohibited items found in the bin will be removed at the customer's cost or the load may be rejected at the transfer station.
Items with an additional fee
These items are accepted, but landfill and processing costs mean they carry an extra charge on top of the bin price.

| Contaminated single-material load | Reclassified to general rate |
