Terms & conditions
Important information about hiring a skip bin with Peninsula Skips. Please read these terms before booking.
Agreement to hire
- By booking a skip bin with Peninsula Skips, you agree to these terms and conditions.
- These terms apply to all deliveries, hires, collections, and related services provided by Peninsula Skips across the Mornington Peninsula.
- We reserve the right to refuse delivery or collection if the site is unsafe, inaccessible, or if prohibited waste is placed in the bin.
Hire period
- Standard hire period is included in your quoted price. Specific hire lengths are confirmed at the time of booking.
- If you need the bin for longer, contact us before the collection date. Extension fees may apply.
- We will collect the bin on the agreed date or within a reasonable timeframe. If you are not ready for collection on the scheduled date, you must notify us as soon as possible.
Delivery and collection
- You must provide clear, safe, and legal access for our truck to deliver and collect the bin.
- You are responsible for ensuring the placement location is suitable and that any required permits, such as council permits for nature strips or public roads, have been obtained.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, site conditions, or unavailable access.
- Bins must not be moved once placed by our driver unless agreed with us in advance.
Fill levels and weight limits
- Skip bins must not be filled above the top rim. Overfilled bins are unsafe and cannot be transported.
- If a bin is overfilled, you will be asked to remove the excess material before we can collect it, or additional fees may apply.
- Heavy materials such as concrete, soil, bricks, and tiles must be loaded evenly and kept within the bin's weight and fill limits. Excess weight charges may apply if the loaded bin exceeds safe transport limits.
Prohibited and restricted waste
- The following items are strictly prohibited: asbestos, fibro, chemicals, paints, solvents, oils, fuels, liquids, gas bottles, explosives, batteries, tyres, food waste, medical waste, and any hazardous or regulated material.
- Concrete and soil are only accepted in specific bin sizes and waste types selected at booking. Please select the correct waste type so we can dispose of it legally and safely.
- If prohibited waste is found in the bin, additional sorting, disposal, and contamination fees will apply. You may also be required to remove the waste before collection.
Payment and pricing
- All prices quoted are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.
- Payment is required at the time of booking through our secure Stripe checkout unless a credit account has been pre-approved.
- Additional charges may apply for excess weight, overfilling, prohibited waste, extended hire, re-delivery, failed collection attempts, and tip or disposal fees exceeding the quoted allowance.
Cancellations and refunds
- Cancellations made before the bin has been dispatched for delivery are eligible for a full refund.
- If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the scheduled delivery, a 50% cancellation fee of the bin hire price will apply.
- If the bin has already been delivered, cancellation or refund is not available, but you may still request early collection.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take several business days to appear depending on your bank or card provider.
Liability and damage
- You are responsible for the skip bin from the time of delivery until collection.
- Peninsula Skips is not liable for damage caused by poor site access, unstable ground, insufficient clearance, or incorrect placement instructions provided by the customer.
- We take care when delivering and collecting bins, but we are not liable for minor surface marks on driveways, lawns, or paved areas caused by the weight of the truck or bin.
